We tend to look to earthly things to provide for us and satisfy us. God is willing to take us to a place of desperation to teach us that only he can provide for us. No earthly thing can provide life for us, we must be dependent on him to provide life for us. The Father sending his son is the greatest act of provision from God. He took the bitterness of the death we deserved to bring us into the sweetness of life and provision with him.
