We all seek for treasure in our lives, what we think will make life significant, happy, and special, but we seek it in lesser things and thus never feel fully significant, happy, or special. Our greatest treasure is Christ, and the sacrifice of Lent allows us to give up what is lesser (even if we value it deeply) to have what is better.
