When we live for the praise of men, we miss the power of God. Settling for the reward of people’s admiration is a sad substitute for the reward God has for us.

When we live to delight God and God alone, we discover His righteousness and His reward in our lives. Jesus is the prime example of this. He lived for an audience of One and received God’s praise as His reward. We must confess our hypocrisy of seeking man’s praise and lean on Christ for forgiveness and for the power to live in a new way.
